[Letting everyone else see my response to Christoph.] -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: Kate & KTextEditor & Pate & KDE Frameworks 5 Date: 2013-12-29 18:02 From: Simon Edwards To: Christoph Cullmann Hello, I've barely started on PyKDE5 (or PyKF5?). Before reading your email, it wasn't even "barely". ;-) I do intend to do a PyKDE5 or something. I've got a few free and child-free days before I go back to work next week, and I've started looking into KF5. I've first got to update and set up my whole dev environment. Then I can get into making/generating bindings for the each set of libraries. Are there any specific APIs that you need first? cheers, Simon On 2013-12-27 23:08, Christoph Cullmann wrote: > Hi, > > given that a lot stuff works in the frameworks branch already, I > thought about porting the Python > Pate plugin, too. > > But there is see the issue that PyQt5 seems to be around, but PyKF5 > not really, or? > > What would be the appropriate course of action? > Port away from PyKDE, given that a lot of stuff is now in Qt 5.2 > anyway and have only KTextEditor/Kate bindings > generated again? > > Any ideas welcome, just afraid that we run again in a situation where > the python stuff is left behind by a > x => y major version switch ;) > > Greetings > Christoph -- Simon Edwards simon@simonzone.com Nijmegen, The Netherlands _______________________________________________ KWrite-Devel mailing list KWrite-Devel@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kwrite-devel
