it’s also good for scientific plotting, but for that, its embeddedness is merely convenience.

what i want to say: if some scientists needs to use python 2, it’s a small hassle to use external one, and the ones who use python 3 are happy to use the embedded one.

Well. In that case, okay. I didn't even think about that, I figured you'd
develop python applications using kate, not kate itself. If it's meant as a
debug console for kate, ok, then my suggestion makes no sense but I guess that
nobody outside the kate team uses it for that purpose.
