Hi,
there are two katemoderc files - the system wide configuration and the
user configuration. Of course, the user configuration should override
the system one. However, this is imho taken too far atm. which is
confusing:
as soon as there is a mode variable line in the user configuration,
the system-wide modeline is not used => even variables not set in the
user configuration are not taken from the system configuration.
I believe it would be better that only variables explicitly overriden
should override the system modeline.
Example for the current behavior:
if /usr/share/kde4/config/katemoderc contains
"""
[Python]
Variables=kate: indent-pasted-code off;
"""
and ~/.kde/share/config contains
"""
[Python]
...
Variables=kate: indent-width 4;
"""
The new system-wide variable setting "indent-pasted-code off;" is
ignored b/c the user sets " indent-width 4;". Wouldn't it be better if
the above example led to "indent-pasted-code off; indent-width 4;"?
/g
