That sounds great, and I think it should definitely be used in
whatever collaborative editing component finally makes it into kate.
It also sounds like it would be very easy to do with e.g. infinity,
even if the program was already written without this in mind. Cool!

My current idea does not need any modifications to kate, it's
completely seperate and can be loaded as a plugin into any application
using KTE (there's no kate specific code).

I will about the TCP stuff, thanks! But first I need a few days to
make the code less awful. :)
