I would guess that 'c' 'a' 's' 'e' -> "ec" is a different bug.

I also think that all of this is not related to a shortcut, because:
(a) none of us remembers pushing random buttons on the keyboard and
(b) when I scroll up and type there, it is still normal (LTR), the inverse mode
(RTL) seems to be active in only a part of the document. (this was also
described in comment #6)

btw, I experienced this bug once in kile, but *until now* never in TexMaker
(which is also a Qt program, but does not use the kdelibs).
