I just updated to 4.6 on gentoo, and have this problem.

For me, the main advantage of konqueror over other similar applications is the
ability to combine so many different tasks in one tabbed window; so I don't see
why being able to edit a text file would be considered a bug, when it's been a
useful and fairly polished feature for a long time now.
