From kwrite-devel Tue Aug 17 05:38:12 2010 From: Burkhard =?iso-8859-1?q?L=FCck?= Date: Tue, 17 Aug 2010 05:38:12 +0000 To: kwrite-devel Subject: Documentation issues with python encoding plugin Message-Id: <201008170738.12538.lueck () hube-lueck ! de> X-MARC-Message: https://marc.info/?l=kwrite-devel&m=128202354323082 Hi, the kate documentation in trnk and 4.5 has this sentence: "Python Encoding check This plugin is always enabled. If you are trying to save a python file as non ASCII, without specifying a correct source encoding line like ⪚ # -*- coding: utf-8 -*-, a warning dialog pops up and allows you to add a proper source encoding line for the current encoding to the file." 1) In 4.5 the plugin isn't build anymore and "presave-postdialog python- encoding;" was removed from katemoderc. So this sentence is wrong for 4.5 and has to be removed as well. Right? 2) In trunk it is (again) still build, but not used it per default (commented in katemoderc). Afaik there is no way to enable this plugin via the gui (settings dialog), only by uncommenting the line in katemoderc, right? How to deal with that issue in the documentation? Leave the text and add a hint how to enable it? Btw, reading https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=247437 it seems to be usefull for some people... -- Burkhard Lück _______________________________________________ KWrite-Devel mailing list KWrite-Devel@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kwrite-devel
