Hi.
Afaik for windows you can use "windows-1258", "iso 8859-1" and "iso
8859-15", although if you are an english user and don't use special
characters, it doesn't really make a difference, because utf-8 also works as
a superset of ascii.
I would recommend that you get a decent utf-8 supporting editor for windows,
though (maybe kate for windows?).
