Not sure if this was left out of the windows release on purpose (to leave to the last for development reasons or limitations in the OS), but in my opinion, Kate is far and away the best text editor out there, and the windows version works 100% for everything I use it for... except opening files in existing instances of Kate which is the only thing holding me back from using it full time.

I tried using the command line option -u but I assume there are no command line options for the windows version. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
