Select text for indenting (with tab) or un-indenting (shift tab).  Whole lines are \
selected, leaving the cursor at the beginning of first unselected line.

When you actually hit tab, or shift-tab, the cursor jumps from the beginning of the \
line after the last line selected to the character position of the first character.  \
As a result, this extra line gets indented, or un-indented in addition.  Not what was \
