First, I would like to provide this ability very much.

But unfortunately the keyword lists are not available through the KTextEditor 
interfaces. In fact the Highlight interface was merged into the Document 
interface and somewhat simplified during the kde4 development. And AFAIK we 
can't change the interfaces again until kde 5.

So there is really no good way to acieve it, AFAICS (the possible way is to 
parse the hl files, and that is not compatible with the plugin using the KTE 
interfaces).
