Summary: Kate does not handle characters that requires Alt Gr
                    correctly
           Product: kate
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Compiled Sources
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kwrite-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: magnus.romnes gmail com

Version: SVN (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: GCC 4.1.3
OS: Linux

I'm using KDE 4 post RC 1 (rebuilt today), and it does not seem to handle characters \
that require usage of the Alt Gr key correctly.

To reproduce (in either kwrite or kate):
1) Create multiple lines in the file (e.g by pressing return multiple times)
2) Go to line X and put in a character that requires the Alt Gr key to make the \
character appear (for instance é or simply ~ on my keyboard) 3) Go to line Y and \
repeat the rest of step 2.

With my installation, this results in the character from step 3 appear at Line X \
Col1, when it should appear at Line Y Col ?. \
