Summary: kate external tools problems - items vanish after
editing, cannot add --switches to comands
           Product: kate
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Debian stable
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kwrite-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: simpledark gmail com

Version: 2.5.5 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Debian stable Packages
OS: Linux

Cannot edit the external tools list without making some items disappear.

1st: Kate automatically adds another separator to the end of the list every time the \
external tools list is edited.

2nd: Editing an already existing tool makes the tool disappear. This happened when I \
tried to add --noclose to the konsole command. (I want to see the output before \
closing the window)

3rd: Adding items to the external tool list can cause the item to be saved but \
removed from the list. I can see the settings on the externaltools file but can no \
longer edit them or access them on the External tools menu.

In order to create this file I did the following: External Tools editor -> remove all \
entries -> Add entry "test" with the commands below but not including the --noclose \
setting on the command. Saved and checked if was present on the menu. It was so I \
edited again and added the --noclose. After saving the entry vanished again.

Here is a copy of the externaltools file:
