ehm, I think the usability ppl bashing here is a bit overdone. For example in the \
kmail example, detailed progress seems only usefull in case of a slow progress, eg if \
there is something wrong. And in that case, you can easilly click it. If it goes very \
fast, no reason to click it.

Anyway, more on topic, I think contacting the usability ppl is the best thing to do. \
Kate is indeed an advanced application, so many options simply need to be here, but \
maybe they have some solutions to make it easier to configure.

And if they don't, well, then at least it has been tried.

BTW of course I can fully understand that you guys prefer to focus effort somewhere \
else, and I think most users would agree. Still I think it's not a good thing to be \
so negative to Alex Merry, after all, he just tried to help. \
