You can still add a filetype which does not change the hl and change to it 
manually, to set such vars, no problem. The only part missing to this atm is, 
that I don't allow "let it stay" as selection in the combobox for 
highlighting in the config dialog. Than you could create your one filetype 
and switch to it, if you want.
