I think so, why have another shortcut to learn/menu item? We can just add a 
checkbox for it. As I see it, users will have 90% often used settings that 
are quite simple, so setting the options in the rest of the cases would be 
OK.

Again, I'm more for default settings than for remembering settings (for each 
search, I'd reset).

Really, this could be a interresting subject for a usability study ;o
