Summary: Remove executable permisions of *~ backup files
           Product: kate
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Mandriva RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kwrite-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: gwidion mpc com br

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.2)
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs

The ~ terminated backup files have the same permissions as the original file - which \
is the expect behavior after bug #103331 has been fixed.

However, IMHO, it would be more secure, safer, and for the use I do of kate and \
kwrite, more usefull, if the execute permissions of these files were all reset \
(masked with 0x666).

If I am writing a script, and I make changes, I do not want the old version to be run \
by mistake.

While it would be difficult for me to run manually the script by mistake, I often \
edit scripts in locations where they are picked automatically by applications - and \
more than once I've had these applications running the backup versions of the \
scripts.
