You're creating a separation where there is none. There is only one encoding, and \
that's the encoding the file was read from. If you change the encoding in the Tools \
menu after the file has been loaded, one of two things may happen: the file is \
reloaded in that encoding or not.

But the end the result is that the file will be saved to that encoding when you do \
Ctrl+S.

There's no such thing as "display" encoding, since the file is always converted \
internally to Unicode and displayed as such. \
