Summary: wrong signals with code completion
           Product: kate
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kwrite-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: holger.danielsson t-online de

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from: Unspecified

Hi,

there is a bug KTextEditor::CodeCompletionInterface from KatePart in KDE 3.4.0. The \
documentation says:

----------------------------------------------
void KTextEditor::CodeCompletionInterface::completionAborted ( )

This signal is emitted when the completion list disappears and no
completion has been done. This is the case e.g. when the user
presses Escape.
----------------------------------------------

When an user selects an entry from the completion list, a signal CompletionDone is \
sent in KDE 3.3 and nothing else. In KDE 3.4.0 two signals CompletionAborted are also \
sent in contrary to the documentation.

And they are even sent before signal CompletionDone, which really confuses programs \
like Kile, which use their own completion modes.

ciao Holger
