hi,
from today, kate cvs head uses our own kmdi replacement, 
it is partly based on kmdi, uses kmultitabbar and no dockwidgets,
will add support to have multiple toolviews visible in one sidebar 
in the next days, already there, only need some gui + save/restore methodes

plugin API changed minimal, have modified all plugins in cvs, anders, guess it 
is only 5 lines of changes for your perl plugins, too, instead of using 
addToolView, use createToolView to create a widget to use as parent for the 
widget you want to add as toolview, just delete the wrapper widget to remove 
the toolview
