I like the way auto-complete works. If you *invoke* auto completion, you 
are in a different *mode* (not in the basic editor mode of "I can just 
press up to go to the previous line" mode anymore). Pressing escape to 
get *out* of that mode is *not* a hassle at all.

In fact, you already pressed two buttons to get into autocomplete mode 
to start with, or am I missing something here? I'm using version 2.2.1 
(quite old). Does auto-complete popup automatically while you type in 
more recent Katepart applications?
