Please provide a exact sample text with instructions about what to select and what to \
replace. The following example worked correct:

foo foo foo
foo foo foo
foo foo foo
foo foo foo
foo foo foo
foo foo foo
foo foo foo
foo foo foo

Select col 5-8 in lines 2-6, replace "foo" with "bar":

foo foo foo
foo bar foo
foo bar foo
foo bar foo
foo bar foo
foo bar foo
foo bar foo
foo foo foo
