Summary: file-changed warning dialog keeps popping up
           Product: kate
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Compiled Sources
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kwrite-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: l.savernik aon at

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.0)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources

In KDE 3.0, Kate popped up a warning dialog for every open file that was changed on \
disk. This often led to dozens of modal dialogs, inhibiting further work before all \
of them were handled.

In KDE 3.2, the warning dialogs were replaced by a way less intrusive, superior \
alternative which indicated that a file was changed on disk by displaying a cross in \
the status bar as well as in the file list. Warning dialogs would not appear unless a \
file was explicitly reloaded (F5), or saved (Ctrl+S).

In KDE 3.3, the unfortunate behaviour of KDE 3.0 has returned. Though it still makes \
use of the cross-markers, for every changed file, an immediate modal dialog appears. \
Therefore, the user is again forced to decide on the matter immediately.

Please restore KDE 3.2 behaviour, or provide at least an option to restore it (which \
should be ON by default, IMHO). _______________________________________________
