I'm doing this as a comment rather than as a new bug, because I've not been able yet \
to come up with a reliable and minimal example which always breaks it, but Kate's \
code-folding doesn't like Perl's post-fix "if"s, especially when they're already in a \
{...} nest. It will get confused and attempt to fold from the postfixed "if" up-to \
the next "}", which is actually associated with something further up. 

Then at the end of the "sub{}" it thinks there are one-too-few closing curlies, and \
there's nothing you can do. _______________________________________________
