Summary: The "overwrite mode" would be better off the
                    kwrite/kate/kdevelop menus
           Product: kate
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Compiled Sources
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: kwrite
        AssignedTo: kwrite-devel@kde.org
        ReportedBy: tnagy@eleve.emn.fr

Version: (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources

The menu entry "Overwrite mode" could be removed from the submenu "edit". This \
feature is not used so often by average users, and is usually accessed with the \
"insert" key, which is available on most keyboards. It would be surprizing to also \
have a menu entry for "delete" or for "beginning of line" and "backspace" ..

However, there is no entry in the shortcut list to map the overwrite mode to a \
choosen shortcut. I guess that someone who really needs this (nonstandard or \
half-broken keyboard) would be happier with a shortcut instead of having to search in \
the menus all the time.
