I was looking at a c++ file (from KNode sources (-: ) and found that the highlighting of strings has a bug if there are escape sequences in the string.

After a \n the text is no longer red, \" is seen as the end of the string.

Try this with c++ highlighting mode:

    KMessageBox::sorry(this, i18n("Your message contains characters that aren't included\nin the \"us-ascii\" character set. Please choose\na suitable character set in the \"Options\" menu!"));
