I don't know, exactly why it happens, but  multiple text writing operations 
are much slower with QT3, than they where with QT2. When highlighted text is 
written to the display, there are more than one call needed per line.

Highlighting itself could be sped up a littlebit (not really, but to the 
user's impression), with a more intelligent prehighlighting code, which does 
not only work the first time, but after text input too. I'll look into it.

What seems to be more time expensive too, are single shot timer calls, which 
are needed for the prehighlighting though :(. The problem is you have to find 
the good compromiss, between the block size handled at one time and the 
calles needed. Perhaps this should be decided by the file size.
