Applying the patches found in http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=1175748
against 4.5.3 I can happily say that the improvement is noticeable. Switching
between desktop no longer takes half a second to show contents of windows as
neither does minimizing and restoring windows.

Great patch indeed!

Looking forward Kwin in 4.6 because it looks really promising!
