Summary: Dragging maximised windows between screens with a
multi-monitor setup restores/de-maximises them.
Product: kwin
Version: unspecified
Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kwin@kde.org
ReportedBy: steve@erayd.net
Version: (using KDE 4.4.0)
Compiler: gcc (Gentoo 4.4.3 p1.0) 4.4.3, x86_64 Compiler was compiled
by gcc-4.4.3, with -O2 -march=native for Intel C2D E8400. KDE was also compiled
as -O2 -march=native, for the same CPU.
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Environment:
Single large xrandr desktop with two identical 1280*1024 monitors; not using
xinerama or twinview; intel ICH10 integrated graphics (dual-head / DVI + VGA).
Desktop effects are enabled.
Current behavior (KDE-4.4.0):
Dragging a maximised window from one screen to the other either by dragging the
title bar, or by using ALT+drag, results in the window 'restoring' itself and
de-maximising, usually to a much smaller size. Once the drag is complete, it
must be manually re-maximised on the new screen.
Old, correct behavior (KDE-4.3.x):
Dragging maximised windows from one screen to another would cause them to
'snap' between screens, staying maximised the entire time.
