KDE 4.3.98, openSUSE 11.2.

I am unable to a assign a keyboard shortcut for Application Launcher, under
Plasma Workspace: no matter which key combination I choose, it is not
recognized as a shortcut.

How to reproduce:
1) System Settings -> Keyboard & Mouse -> Global Keyboard Shortcuts.
2) Select KDE Component: Plasma Workspace.
3) Choose a new shortcut, e.g., "Ctrl+Alt+1".
4) Press Apply.
5) Press the shortcut chosen in step 3.

Expected result: The Application Launcher should appear.
Actual result: The Application Launcher does not appear.

It is interesting to have the following command running in a shell while
assigning the shortcut and testing it: "tail -F .xsession-errors | grep
kglobalaccel". The following is the output when I assign and test two new
shortcuts, first to Application Launcher (Ctrl+Alt+1) and then to Show
Dashboard (Ctrl+Alt+2):
