Just wanted to note that this also affects VMware Workstation and Player in the
same way. Going fullscreen is fine, but hovering over any of our fullscreen
toolbar buttons (which causes a tooltip to come up) causes incessant flickering
of the main app. Also, switching back and forth between monitors in a multimon
setup can cause the monitors to stop refreshing and displaying the correct
window contents. Adding UnredirectFullscreen=false to the Compositing section
of kwinrc fixes the problem nicely. =:) Note that Compiz has the same problem,
but it has a checkbox for disabling "Unredirect fullscreen windows", so it's a
little bit easier for users to affect the change. This might be something nice
to add to the advanced desktop settings page.
