Summary: Xinerama: No drawing on background or window move with
                    nvidia multihead X11 setup
           Product: kwin
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: SuSE RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kwin@kde.org
        ReportedBy: linux.news@bucksch.org

Version: (using KDE 4.1.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Setup:

I installed openSUSE 11.1 beta3 with KDE 4.1.2. It's a fresh install, but the
/home/ dirs are the same from the old installation (openSUSE 10.3 with KDE 3).

I have an nvidia 7600GS and use the nvidia binary driver, installed via the
nvidia installer (not RPM). I currently use the stock SuSE kernel in the pae
version.

My nvidia card has 2 DVI output, each has a 21" Samsung 204B connected. The
nvidia onboard graphic chip is unused.

I have this configured as nvidia Xinerama in xorg.conf (attached). This config
/ setup used to work fine in the old KDE 3 system.

Apart from that, I use virtual desktops (the standard KDE feature).

Actual result:
When starting KDE for the first time, the second (right) monitor stays empty
(black or grey, don't remember). So empty, in fact, that I thought the
multihead setup didn't work, until I just idly moved a window over and saw it
on the second monitor.

I can move windows to the second monitor. I can move a control panel (taskbar)
on the second monitor and it works and draws fine.

However:
1.
The background on the second monitor does not draw at all.
It's either light grey and redraws, or black and does not redraw, staying white
on places where I moved a window along (see screenshot). (I have not found out
yet under which condition it's black or grey.)
A right-click on the background of the second monitor does not bring up a
context menu, preventing me from setting a background image or adding widgets.
(It works on first monitor.)
I seem to be able to move plasmoids from first to second monitor, but they then
are invisible (and I can't see them nor move them back, consequently).

2. Windows moved around on the first monitor do not redraw correctly, they
redraw only partially. See screenshot. Activating/focusing another window makes
them (both) draw fully again.
