I'm having similar problems with my Kubuntu. I have a LCD-TV connected through
composite (1080i), and latest KDE-update from hardy-backports is causing
strange behavior on that TV. Applications will maximize only to the resolution
what i have in my CRT, also fullscreen-mode will maximize only to that area
(1152x864 at top-left corner). However, downgrading KWin to earlier version
made it behave like it should, so i assume there is something wrong with the
latest KWin.
