Summary: [Advanced -> Window Shortcut , Special
Window/Application Settings -> Preferences -> Shortcut]
features do not work
Product: kwin
Version: unspecified
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kwin kde org
ReportedBy: hiley wisc edu
Version: (using KDE 4.0.5)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
When I set a shortcut key for a certain window or application by clicking the icon in \
the top-left corner of the window, then selecting 'Advanced -> Special Window \
Shortcut', the shortcut key is displayed in the title bar of the window (in curly \
braces) as expected. However, the shortcut keys do not work.
I have tried many different shortcut keys, including common (Ctrl+T) or more obscure \
(Ctrl+Shift+{ etc.).
I have also tried setting this option in 'Special Window Settings' or 'Special \
Application Settings', this does not work either.
Under System Settings->Regional & Language, my region is 'United States of America', \
language is 'US English', and under 'Keyboard Layout' it is set to 'Disable keyboard \
layouts' (I have also tried a few variations of these options with no success).
I am running a brand new KDE install on Fedora 9 (yum shows the KDE version as \
6:4.0.5-5.fc9). _______________________________________________
