I share a single keyboard and mouse across a laptop and desktop using synergy. \
Sometimes when moving the mouse from one machine to the other I "lose" the mouse \
pointer (screen resolution is different). I believe the track mouse effect would help \
me locate the mouse when this occurs. Unfortunately, the machine that this occurs on \
is not powerful enough to enable desktop effects.

In the more general case, the ability to have desktop effects that don't require \
composite capabilities would be ideal. \
