Yes it does. Maybe this one worked before as well, but OpenGL-to-XRender 
fallback is certainly new.

Sounds pretty good. I'm not sure about "plain CPU rendering" though. It sounds 
a bit as if we'd do all the compositing effects on CPU, while actually we 
fall back to non-composited case (i.e. no effects) if neither OpenGL nor 
XRender is available.
So maybe "... or even disable compositing in the absence ..."?

Sorry, I've been too busy in the last few days :-(
I'm not sure when you'll release, if it's not too late I might try to do 
something later today. Or maybe a few screenshots. No promises though.
