"deco"? Meaning theme/style? Does not appear to be. And yes, it is kwin. \
Specifically, checking top or the KDE system guard, CPU usage on kwin spikes and pins \
up near total CPU consumption, while others remain low.
Enabling wallpaper time changes, kwin spikes with every "flip" of the wallpaper. \
Disabling it, kwin's happy as a clam. Do a font change (eg change all fonts, say by \
resizing), kwin spikes and pins, but leave the fonts alone, kwin's happy.
Initially I thought it might be a theme/style issue, or something in the qt/gtk layer \
(that applies your KDE styles to gtk apps) so I switched themes, switched styles, \
disabled the qt-to-gtk engine, etc, etc, etc. Nothing. No effect. kwin still \
spikes - unless I avoid changing wallpapers and avoid "systemic" changes such as \
changing the size of all the fonts. _______________________________________________
