Yes, seems like. Never used mplayer with its gui thing, though.

Well kaffeine behaves normal, but it also has no such additional player 
window, like xine-ui. The problem seem to be the two xine-ui windows, where 
the player window (the fancy one with all the buttons and stuff) is on top of 
the video window (the one which shows just the video image), which in turn 
should be on top of kicker. But this is  somehow not the case.

I just tried xine, built the very same sources, on my laptop, which runs a 
Suse 9.2 with KDE 3.3 (original rpms, so they might be modifed/fixed by the 
Suse people) and there everything works just fine.
