The alt problem you mention is faulty implementation, not a faulty idea. I
remember that I used to use alt-shift in Windows to switch keyboards, and it
didn't get confused by it. The same should go for KDE, whether it be alt or
win or whatever.

I don't know exactly how Qt handles alt_alone right now, but it seems to me
there should be no problem if it just waits until you release alt. If you
didn't press any other key with the alt, the menu gets highlighted. If you
pressed another key, no menu highlight.

And mod4 (meta) shouldn't trigger menu highlighting either, darn it ;P
