You've seen the projections: Industry analysts say there will be more
than a
billion cellular subscribers -- a $69 billion wireless marketplace --
by 2003.

On October 30th, Sun Microsystems expanded its commitment to this market
by
announcing its Wireless Initiative complete with a new organization,
new
software and hardware products, new alliances, new engineering centers
and a
$100M venture wireless investment fund.

Please join us to learn more about Sun Microsystems' wireless Java(TM)

technology solutions, a key element of the Sun Wireless Initiative.
Whether you
are a wireless device manufacturer looking for a cross platform environment
for
deploying dynamic content or a service provider or content creator looking
to
bring enhanced content and services to your subscribers, you won't want
to
miss this opportunity to learn how you can gain a competitive advantage
and
capitalize on new revenue stream opportunities in this exploding wireless

market.

By leveraging Sun's wireless Java(TM) technology solutions, you will
be able to
rapidly and cost-effectively develop and deploy compelling new applications

and services to customers worldwide.

In this free Wireless Solutions Cyber Seminar, Sun experts will give
an
overview of Sun wireless software solutions, including:

* Java 2 Platform, Micro Edition (J2ME(TM) technology):
J2ME technology is the edition of the Java 2 platform targeted at
consumer electronics and embedded devices. J2ME technology consists

of a set of virtual machines and Java APIs suitable for providing
tailored runtime environments for consumer and embedded electronics.

* Connected Limited Device Configuration (CLDC):
CLDC outlines the most basic set of libraries and Java virtual machine

features that must be present in each implementation of a Java 2
Platform, Micro Edition environment on highly constrained devices.

* Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP):
The Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP) is a set of Java APIs
which, together with the CLDC, provides a complete J2ME application
runtime environment targeted at mobile information devices, such as
cellular phones and two-way pagers. The MIDP specification addresses
issues such as user interface, persistence storage, networking, and
application model.
