oic, you mean that interface MIDlet is the heritage of midp-v0.7
and this time, it has become abstract class with protected methods. :-)

then, anyway, it was a historical problem. huh?

Current Motorola SDK is based on MIDP spec 0.7, where MIDlet is an
interface. The next release will be compliant with 0.9x spec, where MIDlet
is an abstract class. The required changes of porting 0.7 apps to 0.9x apps
are very simple. This kind of compatibility problem is quite normal as spec
evolves. However, the spec is stable now and we expect next SDK release to
conform to the latest spec.
