I've been looking for vim-in-kde since - jeeze, like 2002 or something -
it's been the single most hoped-for piece of functionality to me.

Anyhow, if someone more skilled doesn't come along within a week or two,
would you be willing to support/mentor a newbie to C++/QT/KDE?

I'm a programmer by trade ( mostly shell, perl, ruby, python and java ) - I'm
very good with OOP, and I'm already a bit familiar with C, with a few
intrepid excursions into C++ in the past, so I think I could tackle this with
some active help from someone who could provide assistance with what would
amount to, at first at least, some very basic foundational stuff - think once
I got built up some steam, I could get up to speed fairly quickly.

Obviously if there's someone else out there who already knows what they're
doing, and wants to take this on, it would happen better and faster - but I
_really_ want to see kyzis ( I like the Kate-as-shell for k/yzis kpart
approach ), so I'm more than willing to put in the effort to make it happen
if no one else does. I could regularly put in a few hours a week on this.
