Hi,

I am inspecting Quanta's code and I wonder why blocks of text where saved with 
startLine/startcol and endLine/endCol. A simple start & length would describe 
the same and would be much easier to handle. 

The EditInterface is build from lines and columns but does not offer a way to 
convert from line/column to offset in the buffer. 

So please consider for KDE 4.0 a conversion function so that applications do 
not need to use lines and columns. 

But maybe I just did not see it?
