But my suggestion would be that you create bug/wish requests about these
things.

As was said in the main thread already, KDE Telepathy does not try to be
swiss army knife and doitall, we also don't want to copy all features of Kopete
(what would be the point of that :) We also prefer to keep the amount of options
to be as minimal as possible.

These^ all fall into the category of what I wrote above. Maybe the last one
could be done, if someones finds the time (manpower is scarce).

Yes, well, there should be blinking taskbar entry, no reason to blink at two places
really :)

It's in 0.9 line.

Yup, that's known and there's no easy solution it seems[1].

Editing contact names is impossible because of the nature of Telepathy.
But we've started on a solution that would allow that at least locally.
As for choosing different protocols when chatting, it's possible and
a solution with selected preferred protocol is also desired.

Sorry, you're gonna have to stick with Kopete for that.

That's again limitation of Telepathy. You simply won't get an avatar
for a contact that's not online (I don't know how much that is a protocol limitation)
so we do have our own cache in place. But obviously only contacts that
Telepathy gives us avatars for can be cached.

For the record, in the years of KDE Telepathy out there, there wasn't a single
report about this.

Yup, that's also on the todo.

Nope, swissarmyknife-sorry.

There's a complementary Plasma applet which acts as a status icon. In Plasma5,
this applet also acts as a quick contact list integrated as an applet.

That's of course possible, provided you have the correct packages installed.
