There will be a new implementation of msn in Kopete 0.70 (aka KDE 4.2). You'll 
need libmsn from www.sf.net/projects/libmsn in order to compile it.

It may be missing some features from the old MSN plugin, such as the ability 
to create a new Windows Live account from the Kopete UI. If you already have a 
Windows Live account, then it should work just fine.

You'll need to compile KDE from trunk in order to enable it. RC 1 comes out in 
a week, so perhaps you could add a local overlay to your Gentoo install in 
order to get it compiled to test it.
