Summary: yahoo service keeps reminding me about users that have
added me to their contact list
           Product: kopete
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kopete-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: matt.casters kettle be

Version: 0.12.7 (using KDE KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

At first it was just one dialog with "Someone has added you to his/her contact list. \
(Account mattcasters)". Now there are 2 and who knows how much more there will come.

There is an option in the dialog "[x] give this person permission to see my status" \
(**)

Clicking OK or Cancel yields the same effect: the dialog closes.
So I close both dialogs, but they just keep coming back every time I go off-line and \
back on-line on the yahoo server.

Since the yahoo service drops away at least 20 times during the day lately, I get to \
close these dialogs all the time. If I don't close them, they pile up. If I leave \
the computer on for a few days and kopete is running, I come back to a nice \
collection of identical dialogs on the screen.

Since firing the same kopete version on a clean install system yields the same \
results, I discovered that these requests are probably offered to kopete by the yahoo \
server. So that either means that Kopete doesn't properly handle the request or that \
kopete should ignore the request the second time it is offered.

If I would have to guess I would go for the second option since the regular Yahoo \
client doesn't complain about this after the first time.

Don't hesitate to ask for more information,

Matt
