I completely agree, and even it could be a good moment to evaluate  _where_ 
kopete fits once for all (kdenetwork, kdepim or a stand-alone module), and 
even if we should be tied to the KDE release cycle (Amarok, k3b, KOffice and 
others aren't, and thrive anyway).
