Summary: Kopete crashes when log on to irc.freenode.net
Product: kopete
Version: unspecified
Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: crash
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kopete-devel kde org
ReportedBy: fredrik mumme se
Version: 0.12beta2 (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc4.02 kubuntu breezy
OS: Linux
I get a crash on kopete when I try to log in to irc.freenode.net
I have tried the kubuntu breezy version of kopete, the svn and the 0.12beta2
The crash comes when I try to log on to server using server window, like so:
/msg *mynick* identify *MYPASS*
the network sniff looks like this:
ISON *mynick*
> niven.freenode.net 303 *mynick* :*mynick*
PRIVMSG *mynick* :identify *MYPASS*
> *mynick*!n=*JohnD* cli-599383aa stadsnat gippnet com PRIVMSG *mynick* :identify \
> *MYPASS*
ISON *mynick*
> niven.freenode.net 303 *mynick* :*mynick*
ERROR :Closing Link: cli-599383aa.stadsnat.gippnet.com (Remote closed the connection) \
Immediately after this server response, Kopete dies.
In Xchat (which works but I dont want to use) the network looks like this:
PRIVMSG *mynick* :identify *MYPASS*
> *mynick*!n=*johnd* cli-599383aa stadsnat gippnet com PRIVMSG *mynick* :-identify \
> *MYPASS*
PING LAG782579468
> niven.freenode.net PONG niven.freenode.net :LAG782579468
Naturally I replaced my login info, note the cast to all lowercase username in xChat \
capture
I do get a backtrace, but no debugging symbols, despite the fact that I compiled with \
--enable-debug=full and CXXFLAG='-g -ggdb'
I cant find any usefull info on how to set up capturing a core dump, else I would \
have sent you that.
Regards
Fredrik Johansson
