Actually, I don't know if I have ever seen a socket-level API that had both SSL and
Socks ( or any other.. ) proxying built in.

It seems kind of dumb... if OpenSSL provided you a UNIX socket descriptor to
work with, instead of read and write calls to its library, everything would be great.
