Well, since libkio already has an OpenSSL linkage, could this be a good place
for KSSLSocket ?

Yes. My KSSLSocket will not work with socks since it bypasses the KExtSocket
read/write methods.
Could the SSL layer be built into KSocks? I don't know much about socks.

I will have a look at this.
When is this new stuff going in? Will it be in 3.3? ( Read: is this something
we can start using in Kopete HEAD, or is it later in the future? )
